Just a few words about my works in 2010

I really don't have time to write two blogs paralelly and I'm not sure that there is any sense in doing this, but at least I've assumed what I've done in 2010. Beside stitching I sewed a lot and also started to make Tilda dolls what I really love and became fond of it.

I'm really lazy to write this blog as well, but the main reason is for this is the altering the proxy features at my workplace, so I cannot reach a lot of site since a while.

This year we are doing our RR later on, here are the photos of my work on the different cloth's of the girls (Dóra, Viki, Évi, Klaudia and ZDóra).

So I'm ready with this nice piece from LHN and I really enjoyed stitching it. The needle-book is also ready, but unfortunately I haven't got a picture with me, so those who read me have to be patient for some more days.

I've made beading with a frame for the first time, but it was much more easier and the result is really-really beautiful. So it worths investing a bit more energy in it. I simply love my new fairy! Tralala, tralala... :D

My latest patchwork projects

I've started a new class with the patchwork mates, so I have a lot of techniques in my pocket and it comes a lot more!

Here is the latest one, this is the leaves chart and it is to be finished once upon a time... it will be a banner at my workplace.

This is a scissors keeper for my big ones and it's made with the chenille technique.

A bag for my pair of shoes for belly dancing, it is decorated with a piece of grandma's flower garden and a yoyo with a button in the middle.

And last but not least, a toilet bag with seminol technique I use for my knitting or stitching when travelling.

For my father in law

My father in law was 60 years old last week and we made a small party for him with the whole family together. We were thinking of the perfect gift for him, but did not succeed, in the end we voted for a self-made photobook and photos of the party.

For the tutorial many thanks to Zsófi, it was much more easier to prepare and make it. I've combined the stitching with some patchwork and it was a great idea according to the issue.

At least I'm ready with the frame before the first sending date. It was very good to stitch, but I was a bit frustrated about the deadline, but it's ready so I won't have anything to do with it what stitching concerns, when I get it back after one and a half years. I'm so excited...

Now, I'm wating for Dóri's cloth to begin with some red stitches after a lot of blues. :-)

Gifts for the twins and co.

Last weekend we visited my cousins as they had birthday, and the older one give birth to their twins about 6 weeks ago. The babies are so cute, except when they are hungry and crying... these are not the pleasureful moments of growing up a child. But anyway the parents look really tired and sooo happy, and this is the point of it. :-)

So I made two birthday presents and something for the babies, and I can tell now, that sewing is not so easy as I thought, you have to practise a lot (of course it worth).

I've started knitting as I can't wait any more to have beautiful shawls I see on several blogs... I started with a scarf, that is really very simple, just to practise how to knit and purl and things like these.

This is my first scarf, which is a narrow but nice long one with it's 1,5-2 metres. I hope it wil be ready by the time autumn/winter comes, so I can wear it proudly. :)

Aaaand I could not stand to get some yarns you can knit those wonderful shawls of, so we orderd some from Uruguay with the girls. It's so nice to knit with especially with these bamboo needles, I like them very much (bit thanks to Erika). So I started the day before my first and own shawl, the raindrop shawl, I'm almost ready with the first chart, but I cannot see the raindrops yet, hope to get changed later.

Tea and birds

How can you match these two words, I can tell you, it's quite easy. :-) Christmas is not so far, I you would like to make special hand made gifts for your family members, so I picked up this nice picture and started to collect the floss for it. The big question came up when it turned to the fabric choice, but in the end I decided to hand dye a piece of aida with tea. It was almost the first time I made something like dying, so I was really excited about the outcome of my project, but it was successful I think.
For the time being I haven't got picture of my new UFO, but I will be back with it as soon as possible. Until then, here's a photo of the pattern when it's ready:

I'll make it for grandparents, so it will be two of this picture I really hope before Xmas and I'll have enough time to let it framed.

Mary Poppins ready

Happy dancing, because I'm ready with the Mary Poppins pattern by Ralina. It was a really nice one, the only thing I disliked in it, that I stitched it 1 over 1 on a 28ct cashel linen, but now I can say it worthed the hard job.

In the last three days I also made a nice Tralala pattern on the back of the bag, so now it comes to sewing... It seems that next week I'll have time to finish some projects that are waiting for only being something. :)

I'll try report at least on my works weekly, so it well be a bit easier to follow-up my stitches for those who cannot read my in Hungarian. Although I don't know if there is anybody, but just in case, and so this blog will report only on my handmade goodies. :-)

These are the two project, I was working on last week.

First comes my Mary Poppins pattern, she is my on-the-train project, and it is really close to be ready:

And we started a Round Robin with the so called dragon girls with whom we regularly meet by one of us. I think we are a great company together, and it gives us so much energy when it comes to our meeting. :-) Our pattern is the Herb Window Garden by Linda Bird, it's really a lovely one and I love to stitch it very much (the problem is, that it's not the only one and I had so much time for stitching). The first row of windows is almost ready, you can check it here:

Now it's clear for me that I cannot manage both of my blogs, I cannot be bilangual as needs too much time. But I'll try to show what I've stitched recently... so here are some snapshots from my works in the last few months.

There a lot of gifts and PIF as well, but this year I've made a lot of stitchis for myself. You can't be selfish enough when it's about stitching, can you? But anyway, this year I'm in the stitching angel project again, it's so interesting! And I'm visiting some intensive patchwork lessons next week, I'm curious about it as well...
So, I'll try to be back a bit more often, just to show you what I've done.

Oh, the garden, I love it so much and we had so beautiful weather on the weekend. I was happily stitching the Aum sign for our yoga teacher. I'm really curious about the finishing of the picture, but now I can show you how it looks like after washing and ironing.

I was in time with the stitching as she is moving to his boyfriend to France, so we will have only 5 times to practise with her. I hope that it will be on the wall when we go there next Tuesday. :-)

I'm stitching my Mary only on the train, she's been progressing a little bit (I'm almost ready with first sheet of the pattern). It's really hard to stitch with the green floss by a lamp, but I like the total effect of the colours.

Practising yoga

In a moth’s time we will have been doing yoga exercises for a year. It wasn’t easy to get my husband to come with me to the class, but I managed to. I was pretty sure, that it’ll do good to both of us and we need at least that amount of moving besides sitting all day in an office. Yoga refreshes and harmonises the body, the soul and the spirit at the same time, it’s only up to you how much.

This time I would like to call your attention to Patvati’s website as it is a charming one and contains a lot of useful information. I’m sorry, it is in Hungarian, but it can be interesting to search perhaps such a site in your mother languages. :-)

BC Snappers in sunshine

Here's a snapshot of my BC Snappers SAL, I've been working on the frame last week. I made some changes what the snappers concerns, I made nice red dots in the frame and I found some nice buttons for the snowman and the hearts. Oh, I've almost forgotten, that the 8 in the date is my design. (I've also started my Mary yesterday evening, but there's no reason making a photo yet, so it'll come later.)

About my lists

So first of all comes my to do list, although I didn't do so much on it. There is only one thing the house blessing, but it is completely ready and is on it's way to the children. On monday evening I made it complete, it was not that easy to me as I'm an absolute beginner in quilting, but after a while it turned out so nice.

Here's a picutre of it, once I have time I'll do a translation of the text.

What my other list concerns, I'm doing also quite well... the details are as follows:

I'm keen on to continue my needleworkbag, but until it comes to my turn here's a picture of the first part.

These days I'm working on my Bent Creek Snappers, the January, February and March is ready and I'm doing the frame now, so I hope it won't be so boring stitching with one colour the same pattern in the end.

The frame is not visible in this picture, I'll capture a photo of it later on.

And last but not least, I'm ready with the text in the 23th psalm. I showed what I've done to the future owner of this picture and she liked it very much. What a delight! As she found the angels too small, two more angels are coming in the upper corners and also something above the text, but I have to think it over what would be the perfect solution.

I'm a really beginner in starting a new stiching besides the ones in progress, as I haven't got so many works opened. I can even count them on my fingers. :-)

Let's see:
- Needleworkbag SAL (first part ready)
- BC Snappers SAL (I'm ready with March already)
- the 23th psalm (it's almost ready).

Ok, I've got a to do list as well:
- Gifts for three preson who applied to my PIF (until 10th July, 2009),
- A giveaway gift for my 1980th visitor on freeblog (until 12th February, 2009),
- At least three stitched things also as a gift in the angel swap (the deadline is 30th October),
- A tiny house blessing pryer in the frame of charity (I have to be very quick, as the deadline is in a weeks time).

And of course I've got a wishlist, but I haven't got enough time now to collect all of them. But I'll do it some time or other. :-)

But I started this post because a fantastic idea came to my mind, exactly the following. I could not deside for the first time which colour variation to choose for my needleworkbag, there was a brown-orange-cream one and a pink-cream one, in the end the brown came out as a winner, but now I know what to do with my pinks. When I first saw and touched Dora's Mary I can't help hum the tune of Mary Poppins from Halász Judit. So I decided to stitch Ralina's Mary in pink and cream and it will a be a needlecasewallet for my small stitching project on the train for example. I come back with a lot of picutres as I have progress in my stitches, and of course the materials for my Mary.

MS Cat is ready

I'm ready with my MS cat, it turned out to be a nice one, I liked stitching it was really surprising that the it's fur wasn't serious at all. :-) I hope the children will like it as well.

Riport of pictures - part one

Now I can show you a lot of things that I made in the previous months as they landed yesterday by their owner. :-)

First of all, the big work which was prepaired in four month's time, but it was really worth doing it! The young couple was so amused by it. :-) Sorry for colours of the picture, it had to be something pretty brown, I don't know what happened to it...

Then here's the ring pillow, I loved to stitch it especially the beads.

I made for them a wedding card as well, it's not that perfect, but it was interesting to work with the spread-beads.

Angel swap

Today I got the name I was waiting for in the angel swap, now I know who will be the one I’m going to make a gift during the weeks to come. I have to keep the name in secret, but I can tell you that she lives on another continent and I was really, really near to her last autumn, and I can tell you that it’s a lovely place! :-)

This time I can show you my progress as I have to keep in secret only the persons name for whom I working for. The deadline for posting is 30^th October, I have to make three things connected to stitching, and I’m pretty sure that I will send her something which is real Hungarian. I hope she will like it.

A birthdaygift for Dóra

When I started to stitch this pattern, I didn't know what I will make of it, but it was so nice and red - it was exactly for Dóra. I decided to stitch it 1x1 thread and it was a real pleasure, I usually could hardly put it down although I stitched it on the train to work and home. At the end I found a nice box which I varnished and put a piece of the pattern on the top, the big pattern - bit modified - came out to be a nice pincushion and I also made a tiny scissors fob for her.

I've got a picture form Ralina, she could not choose the exact colour for the fabric, actually it is dark chocolate. :-) My package arrived yesterday form the UK and there was my beautiful cashel linen as well and I bought everything I need for the bag, so I can start now. I will make a foto with the accessories as well. First here is a picture, Ralina made to me:

A weekend to e-buy

This was a weekend for ordering a lot of things form the Internet, as I couldn't find my fabrics in the shops we have.
First of all I could not decide which combination of colours I will use for my needlework bag, I was hasitating between the orangery-rusty-buttery with dark chocholate cashel and the pinky-greeny with green cashel one, so I orderd some pink cashel from Zsuzsa.
Then I looked at may threads and fabrics several time and I decided to make the original one, so orangery-rusty and buttery threads but with dark chocolate cashel linen, and I also found a fabric that is very similar to the orangery-rusty thread. As Zsuzsa hasn't got such a colour, I had to find something on the Internet, it was not so difficult, I'm now waiting for my beautiful fabric and an Anchor kit (Evening sun).
Finally, with the girls together we made a common purchase on scissors, I hope that they will arrive to me in a weeks time.

In addition we orderd our barbecue, it will come to us from Szentendre on Saturday, I'm really excited as we can put it into service on the spot as we have my husbands family as guests on Sunday for a birthday party. Pictures come later on...

Colours for akrucipbag

I can't wait until my Fein-floba arrives, so I started to combining my threads with the small pieces of fabrics I got form Zsuzsa. It was exciting to see my colours beside some coloured fabric, so I decided to buy another one for my bag and the floba will be used for something else. The colours are in case of cashel olive green and dark chocolate, what the permin linen concerns coffee bean and golden needle. It depends, which one I can buy in a couple of days.

I made a transparent for the colours, just to see how they match each other:

We had a wonderful weekend with my husband, I wish we could afford it once a month! :-)

While we were walking in the town of Hévíz, I found a needlework shop and I could not stand to go in and when I was in, I could not stand to choose my threads for the needleworkbag. The issue will be something orangery-rusty and buttery at the end on a linen fabric. I'm still waiting for my Fein floba from Zsuzsa, but I tend to buy something else for the needleworkbag so as to start working on it. I like this pattern very much and I wonder whether it will be such nice to stitch as well.

So, I will work with the following materials: Fein floba (or something similar) and Anchor threads in colours 300 and 326. It was love at first sight with these colours. :-)

I got a lot of package during the weekend as I could go to the postoffice on Friday, then some fabric patterns came from Zsuzsa and also materials from Andi. So I have some rustic aida (16 count), Hubert evenwave (32 count) for a freestyle teddy RR and 14 count Aida for the 23. psalm project. There were also some threads for a nice tablecolth and TGA threads for fun. Last but not least, I've got a surprice package from my friend Anita as we had our nameday on Monday... there was a nice a postcard in it and CD with a song on it singing happy nameday. It was so heartiness. :-)

All in all I feel really happy now except that I have to work again...

It's Friday at least and I'm out of office until next Wednesday. Salala :-) We are going on a wellenes&fittness long weekend with my husband, it is a perfect gift to ourselves to celebrate our firt wedding anniversary and his birthday and my nameday. After working 10 hours a day this week, I'm totally exhausted so I'm looking forward to it! :-)
This morning I start a bit later, as I have to drop in on the post office for my package form Zsuzsa. Much to my regret I have to wait for the fein floba, because she ran out of it, but I'm really excited about the content of the package. There should be some threads and a q-snap frame... :-)

Workoholic?

No, I'm not workoholic, but we have an ad hoc work in the office and I've been watching a table since yesterday morning together with my boss and we try to do something reasonable with it. It's not so easy... and that's why I haven't got enough time, to write my English posts. Maybe from Thursday on. :-)

Weekend and the others

I wanted to translate my Hungarian post on the strawberries, but I felt so dizzy the whole friday. At home it turned out that I had fever and pain in my legs, so spent the afternoon with relaxation. I attach the picture at least, because it is so beautiful... :-)

I didn't do much on this weekend, but while I was laying in the bed I could work on one of my future stitching. A freind of mine asked me to make her a picture, she wants me to stitch her the 23. psalm with angels, lambs, sheperds or whaterver I want. Now I have a hand written alphabet (backstitches) - it was not so easy as the pattern was unreadable -, I made the lyrics and two angels with a heart in their hands. I invoked a Victoria Sampler pattern as I'm not so good at drawing yet, but they are really nice. I have to use the shades of peach/apricot, a I don't know the exact idea of the future owner; I also have to consult with her on the fabric, I can imagine it on a rustic aida, a fein floba or on a Hubert evenwave, it only depends on how much she want to spend on this picture. So I'm really excited as I have a quite good plan and hope she will like it. :-)

I've turned my cross-stitching on the train to reading as I needed some variety. I've started reading this book on my way home from Madrid and I can say that it is really fabulous; I just can’t put it down once I started reading. I always feel sorry when train arrives to the station where I have to get off. The title of the book is THE CELESTINE PROPHECY. If you are interested in this esoteric topic, I’m sure you would like it! The most interesting part of the book for me is when it speaks about energy and flow of energy. I’m curios about these things and I wonder whether once I will be able to see the energy of a human or a plant or even the flow of energy between living beings. It should be so simple I think.

Needlework bag SAL

I'm so excited that we make together with a lot of cross-stitchaholic girls a needlework bag, which is designed by Ralina. It will be wonderful and a great project for me. We start on the 1st of June, but I'll be a little late as we are going on a short holiday with my husband to celebrate our fist wedding anniversary. ;-)

Today I'm going to order the material for the bag; I've chosen the fein floba one. About the thread I'm a bit uncertain now, but it should be something between pink, rose, lilac or red. I also have to choose some buttons and handles, although it can be stitched as well and I tend to vote for this solution.

I'll be back with my beautiful materials for this beutiful bag. :-)

Welcome on my first English blog. :-)

First I wanted to move my Hungarian blog here, but then a brand new idea came to my mind... why can't I write two blogs at the same time. One in English and one in Hungarian. So, this is the short story of this site, I decided to write in English as well. And it can happen, that once I will write in German too, but this has to be nursed for a while.
